Ravichandran Ashwin was nicknamed "Dada" during his U-19 days while touring Dharamsa.
He became the second bowler after Ajantha Mendis to master the ''carrom ball."
Under his captaincy, Tamil Nadu won the ‘Domestic One Day Championship’ in 2009.
Ashwin was Chennai Super Kings’ second highest wicket-taker in the 2010 IPL.
He was the highest wicket-taker (13) of the 2010 T20 Champions League and was adjudged ‘Player of the Tournament’.
